start

Start the flex-fw system

During start the flex-fw performs the following actions:

• Loads the flex-fw common library from the /usr/lib/flex-fw/flex-fw.lib file
• Gets the current network profile name and store it into flexfw_PROFILE variable. The name are reads:
  • from the enviroment variable NETPROFILE
  • from the file /etc/flex-fw/profile (if NETPROFILE is not defined)
  • from the kernel netprofile parameter (if /etc/flex-fw/profile doesn't exists)
• Runs all scripts from the /etc/flex-fw/vars/ directory
• Runs all scripts from the /usr/lib/flex-fw/functions/ directory
• Setup policy for standart iptables chains as defined in the /etc/flex-fw/policy/ directory
• Makes flex-fw specialised chains
• Adds ACCEPT rules for ESTABLISHED connections to standard iptables chains
• Adds redirects to the flex-fw chains from standard iptables chains in the filter, nat and mangle tables
• Sorts the S-scripts from the /etc/flex-fw/rc.d$flexfw_PROFILE directory in alphabetical order and runs them in this order sequentially with a single parameter start
• Flush conntrack table

After start flex-fw is completed you can use flex-fw in the interactive, batch or library mode.
